Without this "nostalgia bomb", video games would not exist today as we know them. The mainland invasion of Japan would have reduced the infrastructure to such a degree that the post-war economic recovery would have been rendered utterly impossible. It would have been like Okinawa for another 6 months, if not another year.

Don't get me wrong, I consider dropping nuclear arms on civilians a war crime. The world just might be a very different place had the Burgers not done it.

I still use XP in one of my computers and still feel like it's a recent version of windows. I don't even have nostalgia for Win98, although I do have nostalgia for stuff like IRC (which still exists) or java chat rooms (which also still exist).
