What are some /vr/ games that are similar to Pikmin? Games with real-time strategy, group control, puzzles, spelunking, treasure collecting, stuff like that.
I know Gamecube isn't /vr/yetbut this seems like the best place to discuss this

Did someone say real time strategy?play starcraft my friend
I don't think there's anything quite like Pikmin.
RTS games are actually nothing like it. Maybe Worms and Lemmings? But they're still turn-based.
Sim ant?

I've been playing Worms: World Party on PSX lately and love it. It's one of my favorite turn-based strategy games. I've heard good things about lemmings, too. Has anyone played Worms (1997)?

The only retro games I can think of are Japan-only. Dochi Mecha and the Little King's Story-related games that came out before Little King's Story itself.

I've actually been learning Japanese for just under a month now. I'll just set these names aside for later. Do you remember the name of some games like Little King's Story? I'm not familiar.
dungeon master?
Krusty's Fun House qualifies as group control. It's basically an escort mission game where you have to manipulate the environment to lead rats to their death via a giant murder machine.

Even though is total different genre, I had a simmilar feeling with LocoRoco. You control the planet itself to guide those colorful guys and discover hidden places. Also, Tsutomu Kouno totally created a distinct world and creatures.

if you want something like pikmin, there's one game that comes to mind
ps3/360 era game called Overlord. it's a fun, funny rts that's basically fantasy pikmin in the world of middle earth
the gameplay is basically a complete ripoff of pikmin, but the game's still fun

you bet, pal.

What version of Lemmings do you have because the SNES version is most definitely not turn-based

Very similar to Pikmin are maybe "Overlord" or "Army Corps of Hell" (aka "Jigoku no Gundan") on the PSVita. AFAIK the last one was even done by some guys that were involved in Pikmin in the first place. But "Army Corps of Hell" is quite controversial, since the game mechanics are pretty much exactly like Pikmin but the setting is more mature and gritty and obviously takes place in hell and it features an Metal-Soundtrack. But it isn't a good game, very repetitive and more action oriented featuring hardly any puzzles.
