I decided to relive the great memories I have of paying this game on my old aunts PC, but its really a pain to have it working on modern OS.
Is it really worth the trouble emulating windows 95 or should I go for the snes or mega drive version?
the megadrive has more effects and the original aspect ratio, but snes has better audio and more colors.
the windows 95 may be the proper version to play, but what is the better compromise on the consoles?
This is my first post on this board, please be gentle, anons, I just want to get back, back to the past...

Ur an autistic cuck etc.
Now that's out of the way: W95/32X/Sega CD versions are the go-to's because of the extra levels and bonus stuff, but W95 is not necessarily the best, though it's got better sound sampling and color depth; it was made using the same conversion pipeline as the Earthworm Jim Special Edition port, which was slightly but definitely inferior to the original Sega CD version.
I'd just keep it simple and emulate the Sega CD version for the audio, or the 32X rom for the improved visuals. They don't look as nice as the SNES or Windows version, but at least not as awful as the GBA port

isn't the sega cs the one version that has the foreground refresh at 30 fps, and the background at 60? if true, this is the last version I would consider...

That's the 32X version. Sega CD is 60fps throughout.

Great, sega cd it is, then.
