Can anyone recommend me a good AV to HDMI converter so I can play my snes on my flatscreen? I got one from DKoldies, didn't work, exchanged for another, still doesn't work. Rather would get a converter rather than buy a Retros 5 or whatever.

My HDMI to RCA converter works well, brand on it is "TEORDER", going on a year now.

At least convert from s-video ffs
Get a crt or emulate otherwise you're gonna spend a bunch of money on a blurry image if you don't get some cheap laggy converter like the one in your pic.

I hope you didn't buy the adapter in the picture, because that converts HDMI to Composite, probably not the other way around. Most LCD TVs have composite video even if it isn't advertised. Presuming the TV has component video input (red/green/blue+red/white audio), plug your audio in as normal and plug the yellow cable into green. Switch the TV to component input and see what happens when you turn the system on.
If it works, it should show up without a fuss. If it doesn't show or shows in black and white, then your TV isn't compatible. You'll need to buy HD Retrovision cables or an upscaler/proper converter, that's a whole different can of worms I am not prepared to wade into
