I'm looking into buyin an android box so that I can install Lakka for an all-in-one retro emulation box. Anyone have any experience doing this? What was the emulation like? Any compatibility issues?
I was planning on buying an mxq pro with s905 soc

A mini itx PC will give you more options.

I'm all about that 50 dollar price tag though
There really are a LOT of emulators for Android but you also experience appreciable input delay especially with Bluetooth controllers. Of course my "android tv" experience comes from a Gamestick I'm sure newer ones are faster but I definitely prefer my modified Wii for a number of reasons. Hard wired controllers, easily switchable SD/ED output over component and native compatibility with the GC/Wii library plus a price point like half of the $50 you're thinking leaves plenty of room in your budget for accessories.

This isn't necessarily true of android boxes if you flash them with lakka though. Then it operates as if it were a Pi or ordroid

i was gonna put lakka on a pc i was building but i didnt like that the only way you could transfer roms was via wifi. this pc wasnt connected to any router, nor did/do i have internet. (i browse 4chan on my phone) i honestly dont get why thats the only option. pissed me off
Ouya does it out of the box and they're practically free at this point.

And 50 dollar performance to match.
