Alien Soldier is overrated. Once you get used to the dash and counter mechanics, the game becomes too easy. Also, not enough level design and too many "joke" boss fights that waste time.

That's kinda the point, having your life and run depend on a counter and a self hurting mechanic is rewarding because there's no place for distractions.
Also, I really think the only joke boss is Jampan, there's a lot of ridiculous bosses but that doesn't make them puns.
