ITT: The most obscure games you can remember from your childhood
I assumed I was the only one who ever played this, until I saw a screenshot of it on /vr/ just recently.
Played the shit out of pic related in my old famiclone.

OP here, I played that one too. I lived right next to a store that rented out Genesis games, so I got to play a lot of weird lesser known games even though I don't remember most of it.

Trog for NES.
Army or Campaign depending on the version. I actually still have the picture saved from when I was trying to hunt down a fucking copy a while back. Pic related. It's a really simple turn based strategy game, but I remember having some fun with it. It's shareware from some guy, and I've never met anyone else who's played it or knew about it back then.
Not terrible, but I wouldn't recommend anyone play it unless they want to know what people in 1992 thought a war in the Middle East would be like.

I've got this for Game Gear...for some reason.

I loved this and rented it often. I loved both Cool Spot games and had a Spot plushie that turned inside out to become a 7UP can. I also got Spot for the Gameboy back in the day but it ended up just being Othello, which was not fun for 9 year old me.
Ex-Mutants was the first game I bought with my own money. NOT a good first purchase...
EarthSiege 2
Never owned the actual game but I played the OPSM demo a lot.
Does Captain Claw count? This game was the center of my PC games childhood until I got my Playstation 1. I thought it would be more popular but aside from a few hardcore fans not many people know it. There was supposed to be a sequel but it just didn't sell well enough.
I really don't know why I ever had this game

I always wondered if that was based on a comic or something. It wasn't awful, but want amazing either.
I send to have spent a lot of time playing it, despite not actually owning it.

Oh god, I can hear the into in my head.
I've never met anyone else that's played this.
The only copy I've ever seen of this game was the one that I bought from a pawn shop in the early 90s.

Yeah, based on a shitty Malibu Comics title. Just like Dinosaurs for Hire.
Malibu Comics was actually making good progress as an upstart trying to compete with Marvel, DC and Image. They even had their own game studio.
Marvel bought the whole company and shut it down just so they could use it's coloring department...

HA!
I'm this guy

I also bought Awesome Possom because GamePro, or EGM or some other bullshit magazine ran a huge ad for it. The fact that the little fucker never shut up was an actual selling point and I was SOLD
Sword of Vermillion. Apparently, this has sort of a following these days but at the time it was just a weird game that I hated and regretted trading two Mega Man games for
