Sonic 3 and Knuckles

It's fairly easy. There aren't too many deathtrap levels. Have fun in act 2 of sand though. That one can be a mess.

And yeah, many think combined 3+K is the best. It better be though because you had to pay full price for both when they came out.

Even though the first game is my favorite I can agree with people saying 3k is the best. You know it when the little details like the continuity between the levels and the remixed songs on second acts got attention.
You might want to replay it with Knuckles later.

It's an easy game. Sorry.

I beat all of the genesis Sonic games when I was 8 years old, I had beaten Sonic 3 & Knuckles so many times in particular that I had all of the save slots full of 100% saves with different combinations of the different characters.

To put things in perspective, I can't say there was really any other 2D sidescroller that I beat until I was at least 12 or 13. Maybe Mario World before that, but I was really bad at 2D sidescrollers back then. I didn't even beat my first Megaman game until I became an adult.

tl:dr: genesis Sonic games are really just that easy. The whole "grab at least 1 ring to never die"-thing makes getting hit very forgiving.

what are you doing? go play the game.

it just tracks what level you've made it to and you can continue from there whenever you want. After you beat the game, it becomes a level select where you can choose which level you want to play exactly. This is beneficial for 100%'ing the game because you can go to the levels with the easiest to find the special stage big rings.

Get all the super emeralds as knuckles then we'll talk, even still, it's not particularly difficult.

Its not considered the best sonic game. Sonic 2 is. If you like the original flavor of Sonic, then the first one or Sonic CD is the best. Its up to opinion at this point, but Sonic 1 to 3 & Knuckles are all A+ games
