What are some early examples of cutscenes being used to help tell a game's story?
Pic not really related, but it's what came to mind quickest other than something obvious like Final Fantasy.

From the Guiness World Record website. The credit for the first cutscene not related to the story is shared between Space Invaders and Pacman in 1980.
Bega's Battle in 1983 introduced the FMV cutscene.
