Gimmicky peripherals you had growing up?
I used to always see the ad for this thing in those old Game Players game tapes, goofiest thing ever.
And the joystick itself looks like a Star Destroyer, but man of it didn't draw me in to buy it after 20+ years.
What tacky stuff did you have for your 2nd/3rd gen consoles?

I had the Nes advantage controller and the transparent game boy color.
I even had the pikachu n64 for a while, rare as hell in my country but I'm legit.
I had one of these but it never really got used much. I also had a quickshot.

Looks good. Hows the stick?
Only game i played with this is Top Gun
>>4139705
i prefer the sg-6
Can't find it, but I had a this weird box that wired between the SNES and controller and you could program button sequences and such to it. Like the ProgramPad but it was a separate piece. I tried to use it for Mortal Kombat but it sucked.

I had the 3 button version. I used it to play F-22 Interceptor pretty much exclusively. I also had this piece of shit
The only controller I've ever had where the strain relief on the cable broke within three months of purchase.

And they apparently thought the design was so good a Genesis version was needed.
Only the NES Zapper.
Honestly, MAS sticks and American arcade parts in general were gimmicky. American parts were designed to be indestructible, not precise. Although it was a gimmick, it was necessary for dumb Americans that thrashed arcade cabinets. I still cannot believe I played on this wooden beast for half a decade before switching to an HRAP.

The design was still miles better than what I can get for the game port of my 386/486 in those days. The only other d-pad type controller at the time was the Gravis Game Pad.
Do these still exist?
For whatever reason, I found one of these sold as a standalone pad, and it lasted me until the NES' death in the early 90's

From what I remember it's clicky so microswitches.
>>4140667
Only the JDM ones had microswitches. All other regions were shitty rubber contacts.
>>4140670
I must have gotten a gook one somehow, cause I remember it being clicky.

This thing?
>>4140876
I loved the fucking mag ad for this thing, I could never understand wtf the terms meant.
It was only after the advent of emulation that I figured out what the buttons here do
>>4140372
Nope, I have a spongebob one thats pretty good
>>4140876
i brought one of these brand new from a place going out of business, i could never figure out how to use it
>>4140020
I have two of those, did i do good?
>>4140368
Yoooo I had this as a kid! I forgot all about it.
I had this piece of shit. It's moton sensing was horrible, nearly impossible to play any games with. I ended up using it more to play pretend space shooting games in a refrigerator box.
>>4139267
I somehow ended up with a R.O.B., despite not having either of the games that could use it.
