There are so many characters who could be used in another Popeye game if it would ever get made. That SNES one doesn't seem very interresting, same with the GB version. The NES game and its arcade original (and maybe, just maybe, some ports of that) on the other hand is still a lot of fun. Simple but fun, just like a lot of 80s games.

I loved this game, I remember getting the spinach and punching Bluto felt great.
I should play it again though, it's been ages.

Don't worry retro fans, there's a new cg movie coming down the chute and I imagine either a spiffed up re-release of tue classic arcade game or (sigh) it'll be a 3D game a la mario 64, but boring and lame.

OP, there are dozens if not hundreds of classic arcade games that are miles ahead of Popeye, and I'm not convinced that a remade version would even be better than the original in the first place.
