I don't know why I found it so funny that a cat thing was named Myau.

I wonder how they decided on the names.
The changed Tyrone to Odin, possible because its too long and renamed Lutz to Noah for whatever reason.
But Myau for a cat-thing was perfect.

This is correct. Though the only thing I really dislike about 3 is how shit the main battle theme is.
I had a blast playing 1 and mapping out all the dungeons with graph paper.
>>4129009
Ridiculous, 1 isn't even better than 2

For an 8-bit JRPG, it's impressive as hell.
The Mark V ones couldn't even do 3D dungeons.

I'll admit it's good for its time but the story couldn't have been anymore bland and boring, which is a huge knock for a single-player RPG, and it didn't have nearly as many memorable boss battles as 2 or 4

>many boss battles
Look, I love 2, but there are only 3 bosses in this game. Sure, they all are memorable, but that's certainly not "many".
Also, 1 too had at least 3 memorable bosses: La Shiek, Dark Force and that doctor who asks you to give him Myau for experiments. And don't forget about Golden Dragon that you fight on your way to Air Castle.

>renamed Lutz
Considering it transliterates more directly into 'roots', 'Lutz' just isn't anyone's sane first choice. I mean they went with Rutsu in PSU. Lutz is a bizarre translation choice no matter how you look at it. Not that completly making shit up is justifiable, Odin and Noah are awkward names for the sci-fi setting.
3 had the best sprite work though.

It sure did.

>golden dragon

Lutz is a real name though. Seems reasonable.
