I just left a single pic on it for a couple hours and see no burn in.

I have a Samsung F4500 (720p plasma from 2014) that I use as my main TV. It lacks inputs, but it's one of the few modern TV's that has a dedicated 240p mode (and can recognize 240P over composite).

Picture is really sharp, lag is minimal, 240p, 480i, & 480p via component all upscale really nicely.

I use a 65" Panasonic plasma (1080p).
I just have to remember to run "screen wipe" every couple of hours, and rotate games more frequently.
There IS noticeable image retention, which is not the same thing as burn in (which is permanent).

Both of my serious screens are plasma, truly the patricians choice if you ask me. While it's true that plasma is fairly vulnerable to image retention, it's impermanent. Even 40 hours of an RPG menu would fade out in one hour of normal viewing or like 15 minutes of snow. "Burn in" is something that happens to rear projection TVs or arcade CRTs that display one-screen games like Pac-Man or Frogger 24/7/365

I gave up on trying to make HD 16:9 CRTs work in the living room. All the 30"+ sets have geometry issues, and they have many of the drawbacks of LCD TV's in terms of image processing, latency, poor scaling from 480 lines to 540 lines.

I think having a large plasma for movies, TV, PS2/GC and newer consoles, and emulation; plus a smaller CRT TV or monitor for classic games is the way to go.
