Hi /vr/
I don't play vidya as much as I used to, but I still do enjoy emulating games for a few hours on the weekends.
This means I no longer enjoy games with a story or any form of continuity, as I forget where I was a lot of the time.
Basically I'm looking for relaxing games that you can just pick up and play for an hour every other week or so.
I'll post a few that I like and will stop if there is no interest

any game thats not a jrpg
jrpgs are boring as fuck
I'm interested. I've become largely the same way especially with retro games and iS is right in there. Have you played TxK?
You might as well watch a movie instead.
Pic related is very underrated IMO

I have not, but I don't have anything to play it on (and for whatever reason I find older games much more relaxing). Thanks anyways.
If you liked iS, have you tried Rez? It's not technically retro but I think it's close enough

Chrono trigger is one of my favourite games of all time, but there is no way I can play games where the story is an important component
Isn't that basically any game where you start from the beginning every time?
OutRun, Tetris Attack and Shangai III (Genesis) are my relaxing trio.

Arcade ports (or MAME emulation). Arcade games were designed to last a few minutes (unless you got gud), and can be picked up and enjoyed anytime.

this, just play any arcade game. they're all designed to catch your attention and then kick you off the cabinet as soon as possible.
