Who else played the shit out of this?
no-one?
I did, but I can't get it working
Is the game abandonware, where can I get it + how do I get it working for windows 8s (not Visual Desktop)?

I played the shit out of the PS1 version. I remember trading it to some older kid for South Park Rally - regretted it ever since.
On PC though, I can't justify it over RTC. It's just way too simple and there aren't a lot of options for building rollercoasters.

is where I got it from. It seems to work OK but I've been trying to find a sort of community launcher or patch or something but no luck.

I never really cared about the roller coaster part myself, Bullfrog games just hit that spot for me. I've sunk hundreds of hours into Theme Hospital over the last couple of years, that game still plays great.

Didn't notice any retro vidya/related anything in your post, newfriend
By the way tip for Theme Park while I'm here, set win probability at the Duck shoot game to 100%, lower toy cost to 400 and charge 999 for them to play the game. Rake in loadsamoney

I played the Mac version as a kid. I remember it running slowly because my computer must have not been up to snuff. Nobody seems to discuss/mention this game much but there's a Roller Coaster Tycoon thread going 24/7 it seems.
Maybe part of why people aren't trying out this game nowadays is because it's pretty in vogue to shit on Peter Molyneux and pretend he's
never made anything decent before.
>mfw I still have the box of it in the garage.

I remember trying to get into it since a few of the neighbourhood kids were raving about it. Wasn't my cupa tea

I never understood how to set up the water slide. The entrance was never able to let people in.
The soda shop always made everyone vomit so much i had to set the nets all around it.
