X2 is a legit contender for being a better game.

X3 is nice with all the upgrade parts and Zero, but the upgraded blaster was a severe downgrade and made X far less mobile.

This is why you play the "Zero Project" romhack. It doesn't just makes Zero fully playable, it also fixes other stuff like getting rid of the annoying delay of the double charge shot. The game is better, even as X.
