Rayman 2 is god-like, but not sure if it counts as being lesser known.

Rocket Robot on Wheels is one of the better, more unique and imaginative 3d platformers Ive played. It was Sucker Punches first game (the devs of Sly and Infamous). Do yourself a favor and at least look into it.

Yes, Dreamcast alongside the PC version are the best ones. The ones to avoid would be the PS1 and DS versions.

Hey. Just played it for a couple of minutes. Seems fun. Movement feels very good.
