What went right with Darkseed 1, and wrong with Darkseed 2?

It was a simple project with H.R. Giger involved, made good use of VGA's 640x400 16 color mode and with Giger's art.

Tried to bite off more than it could chew, clear problem of communication with the developers and writer, story is nice and has all the potential to be executed well, but thanks to lack of budget, bad voice casting and apparent errors of communication between writer and the others involved, it's executed pretty badly and just laughable. Also the game is just absolutely fucking boring and is a pain in the ass to play for all the wrong reasons, it's one of those "got to go through every single Dialog option on everyone to progress" type of games.

Seriously, there's one guy who ended up playing it for over 8 hours straight.
