You wasted your money. The cheaper GB Smart Card works just as well as long as you use the third-party firmware that addresses various compatibility and save transfer issues. Once you get that loaded, you can play practically anything on it, and keep multiple simultaneous saves. (see here http://thegaminguniverse.org/ninjagaiden4/mottzilla/) I don't think RTC support will be a possibility though.

Where can you actually buy those things? I've been looking with no luck. Chinese EverDrive GBs are only ~$55, are the smart cards that much cheaper?

Update; found them, kitsch-bent sells the 64MB version for $42. After shipping you might as well buy a chinese Everdrive. Better still, I can just emulate with pixel-prefect accuracy on my DS flash card...

Recently played through black & white Link's Awakening again (prefer it over DX because nostalgia). Going to play oracle games next

The best game for GB is Link's Awakening. Its by far the most ambitious and it still holds up remarkably well.

The best GBC game is the Metal Gear game, but Dragon Warrior Monsters, is also an underrated gem

I really want a DMG but I know the screen is shit. Are there any pros to getting one over a Color or backlit SP. I wanted one mostly for nostalgia and the better battery life.

Me too. It's looked down on, but I loved it so much when I was a kid. For the times it was pretty good. Doesn't hold the test of time, but great for a kid back in the day.
