I know it's not popular opinion, but I certainly think so. But I'm looking through a thick pair of nostalgia goggles on this one since I haven't been able to replay it in over 10 years.

I do remember being more invested in BT than BK, but it was that special time in my life where I was satisfied dicking around in 3D platform games f or hours without actually accomplishing anything.

I eventually got everything in the game though, I had to cheat with a turbo controller to get that last canary mary race.

BK was fun too but the worlds were all a lot smaller, didn't feel like there was much to explore there.

I generally did like Tooie a lot, but Kazooie had far better pacing, due to mostly keeping each world self-contained, and outside of maybe one instance, never requiring an ability thats not learned until a later world.

Mystical Ninja is a fun game, but the platforming is mediocre at best.

Broadly speaking, I'd say Mario 64 comes first, primarily due to replay value, even though its presentation (graphics, characterisation, story) is approaching non-existent.

Then Rayman 2. Less replay value, vastly superior presentation, platforming's not far behind, either.

Mystical Ninja has... well. Shit platforming, but pretty good presentation, okay replay value. Call it third place.

(Goemon's Great Adventure has replay value and platforming through the roof combined with pretty great presentation, and I'd rank it #1 in a heartbeat, but as a 2D platformer, comparing it to 3D platformers is silly. Now, as a game? #1, easily).

Kazooie fourth. Okay-ish presentation, fun to play through once, replay value of approximately fuckall.

And DK 64 is just a mess.

Haven't played Tooie or Conker.

That's going a bit too far, it's not as deep as Mario 64 or Banjo in terms of moves, but it's still pretty fun, controls are functional, and platforming segments are really well done. Anyway MNsG has a lot of adventure elements similar to Zelda as well, so it's not a pure 3D platformer.

There wasn't many NPCs to talk to in those games, or have dungeons with maps and equipment to upgrade your gear.
Mystical Ninja 64 isn't a pure adventure game either, it does have platforming elements too, but it's more like a hybrid, Mario 64 and Banjo are pure 3D platformers.

This is an understatement. Tooie fixed everything with kazooie, which people were saying it was a perfect game. Personally, kazooie felt to streamlined, like Mario 64. I feel once I get every stage down, it's basically a speed run on later tries. In tooie, everything is connected and it's more of a process to get jiggies in it. Some thing you can't reach in the first level can't be reached till you get something in the 5-6th level. It's a kind of backtracking that makes it felt like my time wasn't wasted. It has more character than kazooie which also hasn't aged as well.
