what are some decent emulators i can run/ games i can play on an hp 2000 notebook?
>>4094386
Pretty much anything pre n64 is a given. If it runs like a dog, you could learn linux. Lots of dead simple distros out there now that already have drivers for most laptops. Google lightweight Linux distros. Mint, puppy are a few.

PS2 is not retro.
>>4094401
Nope, even ps1 not possible. Lots of great genesis and snes though. Honestly n64 would ba a struggle with that laptop.

Manufacturers never stopped making low speed processors, there's still lots of low-end laptops made these days with low speed cpus like AMD's e-series and Intel's Atom series. The HP 2000 is really just an old Compaq presario laptop design, HP changed little to it after they acquired Compaq

If you're not using it for anything important and want an emulation machine, do the following.
Backup your stuff, install Xubuntu or Linux Mint XFCE. Install Retropie on top of it. Add a controller and roms. Enjoy.

Oh, neat. They still make laptops that aren't chiclet keys.
Good on HP for not catering to numales.
Take good care of this laptop OP.
It is a great emulation machine for 5th gen (PSX, N64, SS, 3DO) and lower.
Better than a desktop PC in fact because of reduced fan noise (typical gaming PC has 5, laptop has 1).
Use the VGA port (which many modern desktops don't have) to attach a CRT monitor and plug in a USB gamepad and you've got yourself a real authentic classic gaming rig.

>complains about numales
>uses a laptop
you can't do both, anon.
