How would you feel about a remake of the first installment in the persona franchise, or the duology?
Personally I don't believe the combat system would mesh well with modern mechanics, so I'll just keep hoping for the Eternal Punishment remaster to get localized.

A complete remake? I'd love it. They really don't need one though, and it's highly unlikely anyway. Atlus will probably just bundle the PSP ports together in a collection and release them on PSN or something because they know it won't get any mainstream success the way P3-P5 did, unfortunately.
The battle system needs to just be scrapped entirely IMO. P1's is just clunky and feels like an unnecessary change to make the game feel less like "SMT with highschool students" and 2's is alright, but the way to get new Personas needs some streamlining.
Do you know how fast I would give ATLUS all my money if they completely remade the P2 duology? Best plot and casts, by far. I'm really sick of the highschool dating sim aspect of Persona.

One of the best things about P2 is how the characters and plot mesh well with the high school setting without delving into a slice of life and dating simulator like the later games. Of course, you can date best boy Jun, but the relationship is subtle and feels realistic for the characters, unlike the rushed 'romance' in P3/4/5. It was nice to have the negotiation option with Jun and Tatsuya as well, it felt like my choice actually affected the gameplay, albeit subtly.
