I liked the soundtrack.
>>4081790
Me too.
Over twenty years later and I still don't know if I love or hate this game. It offers so much yet delivers on so little.
This fucker. But it also had a surprisingly good soundtrack.
>>4081773
>Console port of RoR
Can't blame you.
You probably saw the glorious PC MASTER DOS RACE version and thought it'd look as good on the console.
I shouldn't have let my friend hype it to me.
Didn't purchase it, it was bought for me still have that crap.
For some reason, I really wanted this game.
I don't hate it, though it is balls hard.
>>4083281
forgot pic
There were lots of shitty Simpsons games but this one always stood out to me.
Fuck this game.
>>4083367
This is the best game.
>>4083024
I kinda like this one, its not great by any means though.
>>4083371
It's not bad, but it's not great. Just really difficult and weird.
>>4081860
Actual gem you got there, no kidding. That's like the good version of Divekick. My wife's son thinks it sucks, but I like it a lot.
>>4081959
I loved this game. I bought it a few months before getting a playstation and it was the first home 3-d fighting game I ever owned. The soundtrack was amazing.
Yea it played like shit because it only had a punch and kick button, but eh it was still fun. I wish the SNES version had come out
Fortunately it was secondhand, but still - $15 was a lot back in the days of being young.
>>4083482
Should have gotten Konami's Super Star Soccer 64.
>>4083024
I used to love this game.
Played the arcade version of it every time we went to Pietro's Pizza. I remember it being pretty fun to play with 2 people
I don't even remember playing it at all, but I remember owning the physical copy.
>>4081986
there are better options for PC DOS
>>4081860
you are so wrong. Fighting Masters is an amazing game.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjMT6Jy16QQ
None, my parents bought me all my games, suckers.
Not too many shit buys as a kid
We always went to blockbuster and Hollywood video to rent before buying
Good memories
>>4086208
Had the virtual boy at launch if that counts
I loved it , only had Mario tennis but wasted an ungodly amount of batteries on that
>>4083283
>there was a sequel to RoM
How the fuck did I missed that? Was it any good? First one was really bad, Sentry was by far the worst shit ever.
>>4086329
It was a ton better than the first, but still a clunky, un-fun piece of shit.
>>4081959
I like this game. Replace a fighter's model with a copy of Rygil's and absolutely destroy everybody.
The game which taught me that Squarsoft infact COULD do wrong.
>>4086356
for some reason i played through this entire game on ps1 a few days ago. took several hours. what the fuck am i doing with my life
>buy sequel to childhood favorite first day
>get a shittier version of Xenogears with DUDE SO MANY CHARACTERS and god awful magic system.
>>4086541
but it's one of Square's best Playstation RPGs, you pleblord. Does have a bit too much menu fuckery and the mechanics are not intuitive, but once figured out it holds up a lot more than any of Square's other 5th gen meme games.
>>4086703
I played Chrono Cross before I played Trigger. Tbh, I find Cross to be a lot more fun. I couldn't put it down
>>4081773
same on the SNES. Damn magazine adverts.
final fantasy 7
>>4086703
Why are there so many of you losers that put Xenogears on such a high fucking pedestal? You are becoming the perfect example of nostalgia.
>>4087487
Not that anon but I remember the soundtrack being insanely good and I didn't even beat the game
>>4081773
>he "bought" games he could download for free
>he thinks he bought anything as a child
>childhood was mid 90's

Actually one of the best
My neighbor friend kept raving about this game, how he played it as his friend's house and it was the best thing ever.
I almost cried after I got this game. I could not believe that it was a goddamn turn-based RPG fighting simulator in 3D. Same day I rushed to local gaming stores and pawn shops and see if they would buy it. Could have traded it for Goldeneye (without box, faded label) or Resident Evil 2.
Ended up keeping it and playing the party mini-games over and over since I liked Mario Party. And turned out my friend only liked the game because it was Pokemon.
To add to the injury, I was debating between this and Majora's Mask. But the worst part of it is I lived in Eastern Europe at the time and the cost of this game was 1/3 of my mom's monthly paycheck. FUCK
Fuck you, Pikachu! Even the graphics were bad.
>>4087849
Many kids wanted a 3D fighting game, but Pokken came too late.
>>4087849
Unfortunate, but we loved the shit out of this game as kids
But we were hardcore fans of the series and spent hundreds of hours playing the Gameboy games
>>4087487
I don't. Xenogears is merely okay all in all. I just think a comparison isn't too out of line what with it being another Square RPG with Mitsuda music and a similar melee attack system. However, unlike Xenogears it doesn't have the interesting themes and tone to back up the mediocre gameplay.
>>4087440
You and many others it would seem. Just couldn't get into it at all. The game just feels... sleepy. Nothing in it feels particularly urgent, epic, or dangerous. The characters and story aren't very exciting. Mitsuda turned in an excellent soundtrack but it too feels kind of relaxed and meandering with all the new age tracks.
Had to choose between this shit and Symphony of the Night.
>>4088473
>PAL
whatever your choice was it was always going to be bad
>>4086541
This.
What a fucking chore.
>>4088269
>Just couldn't get into it at all. The game just feels... sleepy. Nothing in it feels particularly urgent, epic, or dangerous.
Yeah, it's a staple "comfy" game, as it were. Reminds me of a saturday morning cartoon than anything else, particularly in the sense that the game really picks up towards the end in terms of urgency and pace.
>>4081773
I remember some children TV showin Spanish or maybe in Portuguese it had Xuxa as the host I believethat used this video game as one one the games of the shows that kids could participate in, they had to beat the CPU in a fight to win a prize or something like that,at least it looked dope at the time or that is what I recall from it, or maybe it was a fever dream.
Thought playing a 3D flight simulator on TV was fun and was influenced by vg mags scoring it as a 'hit'
>>4081773
i bought the game gear version. it was even worse
Bought because, looking at the cover, I thought it would be an epic adventure
>>4089505
>muh 10 hz
>>4086703
>>buy sequel to childhood favorite first day
>>get an amazing game that's in many ways superior to the original
Games a great pleb filter for fanboy retards - the kind of people that would enjoy shit like Advent Children.
>>4090297
I really need to play Chrono Cross one of these days. I've been putting it off for a long time because of a big backlog of shit to play. Work doesn't give me much time for RPG's.
>>4090330
My younger brother is a big CT fan and finally played CC in ESPXE and loved it. Hope you dig it too. Game looked amazing on his laptop.
>>4090183
My family was poor and my parents owed too much to video rental stores to rent games, but my dad liked military stuff so I had this and the similar M-2 Abrams Battle Tank sim.
At the time the awful framerate didn't bother me (it's very noticeable to me today tho), and the gameplay is pretty fun once you get past that and also de-activate the "cuts in combat" option in the menu -- that takes you out of your view to show you a "cinematic" angle, it's fucking awful because it doesn't even pause the game when it does this either.
