what 1.13 build does it use?

i'm too used too all the new shit and AIMNAS was the most comphyest game with bigmaps. Though sniper scopes are kinda fucked.

UC 1.13 AFS prolly still has the best guns / mods though no big maps.

I dunno. I come back to ja2 every now and then but It's harder getting back each time. Too much micromanaging. I can't stop myself from not cheating and getting all autistic with the inventory. Once you get the best gear then it just turns into boring routine.

What's the best version of JA2 to install? I prefer vanilla experience with slight quality of life improvements. I had all the archives already ready for install but I seem to have accidentally deleted the whole directory. I've been installing tons of games lately but never get to play them anyway.

So, is the JA2 GOG version good enough or should I get JA2 Gold? Gold includes the Unfinished Business as well.

I actually found my game again. It's been a while and I was confused about the game versions. I installed JA2 vanilla and then the latest 1.13 patch with update.

I couldn't run the game in Win10 and after small tinkering I found out I need to install ddraw wrapper. I first tried dgVoodoo2 and while it works and the game launches there was some issue with window focus and I could see 2 mouse cursors etc. Found out that Wined3d 1138 version works the best. That did the trick.

I always loved this game so much. Now I just need to find out how to get proper window size as running the game in fullscreen messes up the desktop resolution and everything else is locked out if the game is running.

Yeah, I'm running it in window now but it's not as immersive.

I'm not sure but I think I remember the game was running much better on Win7 many years ago than now on Win10.

yes that's AR

it's ok. it's mainly new maps with less blank sectors. a few locations have been moved further out, for example you need to get to Estoni to activate Bobby Ray's. there's also more SAM sites. otherwise it's mostly regular JA2 / 1.13
