Would anyone like to share their opinions on "PUNCH-OUT" for the NES ?
Personally, I think it's an astounding game, with very few possible glitches, and incredibly well-hidden hints for certain opponents, easy to get into, no overcomplicated controls, quick and responsive combat experience, and, best of all, there is no "Bullshit"; You can't die and blame it on the game design ; any fault is on you. Dodging Macho Man's tornado punch and without stopping and still get hit, you're dodging faster than his punch comes back. You ran out of blocks in the middle of Piston Honda's special, you should've blocked less and dodged more earlier into the match.
Also, the fucking character names are the BEST !!!

Best boxing game ever to this day. It's sequels aren't half bad either.

;^)
I played the game on Wii and 3DS a lot but having read up on latency in emulators since then I will never know if my weaknesses stem from my own reaction time or the lag between input. I have come to the conclusion that the only way to truly experience a game is on its original console.
For the record I've made it up to Macho Man.

One of the best examples of a story that resonates with the gameplay

I've completed the game on both Wii VC and emulated on pc via FCEUX, it's just a really hard game.

I've beat Tyson on a Wii emulator w/ CRT, that much can be done. 3DS I have no idea about.
