Which Capcom Dreamcast fighter was the best?
>>4075407
I got the most mileage from MvsC2 because of the huge roster to unlock, but they're extremely different games. It's kind of pointless to compare them.
It's a shame JoJo didn't include the awesome extras from the PS version though
I played Project Justice the most, but Alpha 3 was good too. I just wish Maki was in the DC version.
I always liked KOF99 a bunch
actual 99 not the 98 99.
>>4075407
Garou is better than all that trash.
>>4075421
Last Blade 2 is better than garou
This one.

> 1998
> Not romancing tech
>>4075421
It's also not made by Capcom, stick to the thread or stick it up your ass.
>>4075510
>It's also not made by Capcom,
Says who?
>>4075407
power stone
>>4075515
>says who?
Um...everyone but you?
at the time it was MvC2.
third strike is a badass game.
not sure why you skipped project justice. it might be my favorite after mvc2
>>4075515
Are you fucking retarded? It's an SNK game and this is a Capcom thread.
>>4075407
MvC2 will always be my fave, SF 3 is probably the most technical /balanced doe.
>>4075407
Of those three, probably 3S. But really, who cares? None of them come close to the KoFs on the system.
Definitely not Vampire Chronicle, that was a mess that was completely inaccurate to the games it was claiming to represent. Fortunately the later Vampire Collection on PS2 had proper ports.
>>4075407
>>4075947
Didn't Darkstalkers on PS2 have some input lag issues?
>>4075981
Supposedly, but it's still the second most arcade accurate port (most accurate being Resurrection) and by FAR the most fully-featured port.
While I really dislike the source material, I think the JoJo game was fun because of the stand mechanic. It was interesting being able to summon a separate fighter and program them to set up a combo with you.
>>4075972
Seconded, MvC>MvC2
>>4075985
Where does the Saturn version fit into this?
>>4075407
Actually, only one of those is a Dreamcast fighter. Turd Strike and Blowjo's were made on the CPS3.

I got into Jojo by reading the original manga, really liked parts 1 and 2, part 1 was really dark and violent, I think it's my favorite. Then part 2 added more humor and a more traditional shounen-style storytelling, part 3 I don't know what to make out of it. Part 3 is when Jojo actually gets Bizarre, I appreciate that fights are no longer typical and it differentiates from other similar works, but honestly I didn't care for most of it, a lot of characters and enemies don't really go anywhere. And Dio is now just a mindless evil guy, not the asshole actually evil motherfucker from part 1.
And yeah the fanbase sucks.
I regret not buying more DC games before Shenmue 3. The prices are fucking ridiculous. Even mediocre cult games like Berserk are $40.
>>4075804
On the dreamcast, yes it was. Still my favorite fighting game of all time. Also japan only was Capcom vs. SNK Millennium Fight 2000 Pro before cvs2 which added Joe Higashi and Dan and a few new modes and moves.
There is also the fan disk as a pre-order bonus i think for cvs2 or something like that. Also japan only. It has art, replay data which you dowloaded onto your vpmu and then viewed in the actual game and was all tournament replays from a Japanese tournament. Also had cheat codes and saves for other capcom games too.
I used to love playing EO version on the xbox huge (not retro i know) online and it had 480p (which i think the gamecube version had but good luck getting the component cables for it.
EO was bullshit feature online though, all you had to do was flick the right stick to do a special move, making charge characters like guile completely broken.
>>4076276
This is pretty much how I feel about JoJo. Dio was a person who had a back story and went through character development. They just threw all of that out in part 3
>>4075985
Does Resurrection really count as a port when it's basically just emulation with a fancy frontend? Not that that's a bad thing but it feels a bit unfair to compare actual ports against it.
>>4075407
MvC2>3rd Strike>JoJo
all of them are top tier fighters though, even if very unbalanced
>>4075985
I think if you mess with some of the settings, you can it at least as good as resurrection. It's cool that it also has all the board revisions for each version of each of the games
>>4078223
>all of them are top tier fighters though, even if very unbalanced
That statement contradicts itself...
>>4077890
>The prices are fucking ridiculous. Even mediocre cult games like Berserk are $40.
Whoa, really? Time to sell my Jojo.
Is it a Capcom Fighter?
Is it on the Dreamcast?
That's the best Dreamcast game.
Not capcom but eh.
>>4078573
I remember the DC port getting a lot of shit for not looking as good as the Model 3. Yes, it was a rushed port, but it looks closer to the arcade than people remember, plus it runs at 60 fps, which is something that can't be said for other Model 3 ports like Sega Rally 2.

>>4078598
It looked fine to me at the time. I know the Arcade has the better backgrounds but I never really cared about that.
>>4075407
Project Justice
Plasma Sword
Power Stone 2
Just kidding, 3rd Strike is and always will be the best fighting game ever
>>4078668
Star Gladiator is super underrated, the first one is pretty good too.
>>4075407
Power Stone. Top tier game all round, I wish there were more environment fighters.
>>4078740
Yeah, dat june puss and ass. I love that game.
>>4075407
Dreamcast plays burns
Just get all of them
However I found a neat disk on eBay that had a nice collection of Capcom fighting games (with Action replay built in) all on one disk
It's a repro obviously but it came with some nice printed artwork of Ryu on the cover
(Capcom fighting collection Dreamcast)
Pretty slick, we've been playing the shit out of it over here
>>4081614
There's still a good reason to use the original GDs though, they have much faster loads.
>>4081623
Yeah, and technically burned disks fuck up the drive over time
But all shit with moving parts is doomed to break anyways
I figured I'd just replace the unit once it fails
>>4081632
>Yeah, and technically burned disks fuck up the drive over time
bull
>>4076276
I preferred part 3 manga over the others. Disagree about the characters, I liked each of the gang members more than a flat, melodramatic character like Caesar.
>>4081641
>Horribly ripped/shitty burned game from the internet on a cheapass cdr is the same as a retail disk
>>4081659
No one said that, retard. They said it won't fuck up the system, which is true.
>>4081849
Anon.
The way CD lasers work is that they have to physically move to read data off the disk -
If the data is improperly burned and in the wrong spots all over the disk it causes the laser to move about erratically (this equals more wear and tear)
Most newer iso and gdi files are properly dumped alleviating this for the most part - but you really are rolling the dice in terms of shitmon when burning random shit you find online
Which is why i generalized and said burned games can fuck up your Dreamcast
I'm not a retard anon-kun
Plz No bully
