I've been replaying the series from the start again and damn is it great. Even the first one is still lots of fun to play. I though it maybe was some nostalgia but im having a lot of fun. Big downside is that in the forst 3 games shooting doesnt have its own seperate button, but after some adapting you can manage

Just map the 2 keys to a single button when using a controller. I use xpadder but whatever works

Damn, keen 3 is a sloppy game. I guess I should be glad I never played this as a kid. Unobtaiable items everywhere, and >>4073191 has half of the areas blocked off. Still fun though, but I'm glad I'm moving to my personal favorite now, Keen 4

There is a download online that actually fixes most of the level design problems with keen 3. Its a joke that its needed but makes the game a bit more enjoyable
