Rareware group photo back when they were Ultimate Play the Game.
What the fuck is going on with the people in this picture? They all look hella uncomfortable: glaring at the ground, hands stiff in pockets, grimacing, etc
dude, seriously, only the two on the right don't look proper, everyone else is fine

Guy on the left looks like he's in pain
They look British.
>>4067645
This. The other two probably didn't like having their picture taken or didn't give much of a fuck about that picture and just stood there until it was over.
This was the usual thing back in the day when people didn't all make stupid wacky poses to upload the picture to the internet or didn't use bleach filters to appear whiter than usual. I could probably find lots of these kinds of pictures if I looked hard enough through my grandma's stash of old shit.
this immediately came to mind. it was all the way in the back of the booklet. I think they did a group picture for both Abe's Oddysee and Exoddus.

w2c the right guy's jeans?
>>4067631
It just looks a few of them weren't too enthusiastic about the photo shoot.
>>4075073
That's literally what it can look like. You're going to have to do better than "oooo ur actually incorrect"
>>4075073
The guy on the far left is grimmacing.
However, I'm aware that British people interpret basic faces differently than Americans. For instance, Americans consider a "frown" to refer to a downturned mouth shape, while Brits (apparently) consider the pivotal part of the expression to be a wrinkled brow. Hence the phrase "frowning in concentration" being common in British works but unheard of among Americans.
None of the people in the original photo are making any particularly noticeable eyebrow expressions, even though many of them are making unusual mouth expressions. This may be an artifact of the fact that they are British.

Football match between French video game publishers and game journalists. You might recognize Yves Guillemot and if you're French (and old) the guys from Lankhor, Logiciel and Cobrasoft.

that's just what British people look like.

As a Brit I can confirm this.

>grimace
>a facial expression, often ugly or contorted, that indicates disapproval, pain, etc.
I'm not sure if it's that you don't know what kind of expression the word refers to or if it's a mental issue that makes it hard for you to read expressions, but you're wrong. None of the people in that picture are close to grimacing.

I'm not the anon you were arguing with, but the guy in blue on the far left of the picture (from the viewer's perspective to be clear) is making a face that could be described as a grimace. It is not an overly exaggerated one like in your example.
By the way I do not have any facial recognition disorders that would effect my ability to recognize that facial expression. However, if you need to rely on a dictionary of facial expressions with examples to identify them, you might have some deficiency in that area. For most people the experience of reading a facial expression involves a form of empathy.

I posted it for the benefit of the guy who clearly doesn't know what a grimace is and who specifically needed a source because he was also too stupid to look it up.
The guy in blue is not grimacing at all.

He is grimacing a little. His lower lip is pushed up into his upper lip and his eyebrows are pushed down and together. It's a very British expression.
Are you a British person? Are you American? I think a cultural difference could be contributing to this disagreement.
In any case, what kind of face do you think he is making? It's certainly not a smile or a neutral expression.

Yes, and not a grimace.
> It's certainly not a smile or a neutral expression.
It's a typical awkward British smile.
Canadian, British descent and many Brit relatives. This shouldn't even be a debate. Clearly those people didn't get together for a company photo and put on sour grimace faces for it. They're trying to look happy and at ease, not entirely successfully, but certainly not grimacing at all.
>>4080705
>me on the right

They're awkward nerds. /thread

As an American, a grimace is a common way to describe the face achieved by someone who tries and fails to smile in a picture. Not a frown, but a painful looking expression.
To be clear I don't think he is doing it on purpose either. It's an awkward photo.

what? no it is not.
where are you from?
also pretty sure its because the sun is bright.
whenever I try to smile outdoors in sunlight my face ends up looking like that.
also this is the most autistic argument ever FYI

But apparently he didn't need to go under there to fap.

Well that photo was apparently in 1997. At that point he was credited as a producer, so perhaps he didn't have a cubicle there.
