What if someone remade space invaders as if it were a next gen game?

So the other day I went to the carnival and they had a cool looking space invaders arcade game with a huge vertical monitor. You used those guns you see nowadays for rail-shootan arcade games and shoot the invaders. It was totally wicked.

super space invaders '91 I believe is what you want.

It would look like the N64/PS1 Space Invaders, but in 4KHD.
Maybe they'll slap some political/ideological agenda on it and add cutscenes with a plot, idk.

Space Invaders Extreme

It's actually a very good shooter. I've never heard anyone around here talk about it, but I was impressed enough by the XBLA demo that I paid for the game. It's really fun.

I have this. The gameplay is extremely similar to the original and the graphics are good with a cheesy story. I think this one is closest to a "next gen" Space Invaders

decimation x is pretty close if you are looking for it. Helluva lotta fun in multiplayer, but more of a bullet hell that just looks like space invaders.

Versions for XB360 and Windows phones. PC version was cancelled. Was always a hit at house parties. I would just leave it up on the screen with four controllers out. That or Guitar Hero.
