I was never favoring one method over another, I simply suggested it as on option. But choosing to the scaling artifacts doesn't mean they're not there, that's why i use a CRT instead of an LCD or shader.

That's hardly the only CRT I've seen in my life. It just happens to be the one I have now. I think they all look terrible though which is why I haven't bothered to get a better one. Once Saturn emulation is good enough I'll throw it to the curb and be done with those things forever.

What's the point? I don't understand this autism, the games look pretty much exactly the same no matter what minor visual effects you tweak them with. Even if you had something that made the games look significantly higher quality, what would that even matter? Visuals are there to let you know where your character is and where enemies and obstacles are so you can play the game. It's not like your eyes are going to feel good because you used greater visual quality. If you want to feel good take drugs.
