Picked up a 5 inch TOTEVISION CT-6000 portable TV, has a VIDEO IN and AUDIO IN. Trying out a NES annnddd...nothin. Tried CH4/CH3, tuning it all up and down, UHF/VHF, this thing even has a MONITOR switch, nothing works. I'm using working cables, tried a different NES even, no picture. Currently have this running with a 12v adapter, although it technically says 13.5v. Tried the "AFT" button with no effect either. Volume works, I'm stumped. Did I just pick up a piece of junk?
Has an "EXT ANT" port, but it doesn't seem to be for a coaxial, don't guess I can try the RF switch.
You sure you didn't just buy a broken-ass TV?
EvilBay seller claimed "pulled working from an AV department, not used in over a year" 100% GUARANTEED!

Why?
Are you really planning on using it for playing?
I mean, why? It's not cool or special, it's just bothersome and shit.
slap the shit out of it. if it doesn't work let me know there's an old black man over here i can give you the address of who still fixes crt tv's.
I picked up because it was cheap, small and had a video input. I found the size novel for a tv. Trying to get philosophical is besides the point.
The volume works how? Just static? If so that doesn't mean anything. You want to have it in "monitor" mode and connect the audio and (composite) video out jacks on the NES to the corresponding in jacks on your TV. If that doesn't work you can connect it over RF with just a cable that has the right connections like something you might have used to plug your headphone jack on your phone into your house stereo

Yes. No question about that. But can you get it to work. If you're getting audio but not video I'm guessing you know enough about how to plug in AV cables to get that part right. In that case your piece of junk is probable broken.
