Lag in Metal Slug 2 is largely a myth, I've played the game since I was 11 and never noticed any slowdown.

I will acknowledge X is all around better, but it does some things I'm not too fond of. These being:

1. Replacing the arabian soldiers with Morden's grunts for the most part in the first stage, you don't get to fight those arabs anywhere else other than the first stage so it really takes away from the enemy variety.
2. Having the aliens show up sooner than they're supposed to in mission 4, taking away from the reveal in the final mission, this is a little more forgivable though.
3. Getting rid of the crying kid that meets with that business man

But besides those, X generally is just better. It has a cooler announcer, THE announcer that everyone knows and loves, the "whoa-ho, big" line was added, you can turn fat in mission 3, night time ajirabia looks cooler, I'm fonder of the POW placements, controls have been tightened up to how 3 feels, mummy dogs, and I enjoy Hyakutaro helping you out against the final boss.

I like playing Metal Slug X/3 online in FightCade.
I tried playing Metal Slug 2 for once just to remember the changes, but overall it feels more boring than X, I don't know why, the game is very similar but somehow feels more tiring, maybe it's just the slowdowns in two players mode (the Final Mission lags from the beginning to the very end).

I think YOU need to relax since that's not the case at all.

If you want to talk about the game so bad then why don't you bring up a subject, smarty pants? You can't because you barely know anything about the games yet you love complaining and being a gay it seems. But since you're such a stuck-up jerk I'll bring up the topic of hard difficulty not because of YOU or anything but because I've been meaning to.

Recently I've completed a Level-4 1cc of Metal slug 3 and I've been meaning to go all-in with the Level-8 difficulty but it turns some of my strats for Level-4 difficulty inside out and tells me to take it slow and easy, turning Metal slug from a run n' gun to a stop n' gun. I can tell it's all still doable for a 1cc by the difference from the piranha-fish on the boat in mission 1, where you can kill them pretty easy with your HEAVY MACHINE GUN but you've gotta wait until they're flying towards you if you want the items they drop to land on the boat instead of the water.

In level-8 difficulty you have to destroy them as soon as they're in your sight if you want to take them out and NOT die, but it seems to be timed so that from the point where you begin shooting to the point where you're finally able to kill them, their items land on the boat, so I can tell this is a very deliberate design choice but it's still very annoying in some regards like the zombie blood vomit attack not taking out the mono-eyes immediately and largely just being useless if you're not in 2-player mode with double the vomit... Some things hardly change like Mission 3 since it's mostly comprised of Morden's grunts which always take one shot to kill and Jupiter King just being an all-around easy boss to deal with. Even if he and his rockets take more hits I still find it very doable.

The real difficulty has gotta be the second half through, which I haven't explored fully but man does it suck from what I've played of it in fightcade.

Even though I am complaining, I realize I could be completely wrong in assuming it's bullshit since that's what I thought of several parts of Metal Slug 3 on level-4 but later on figured out how to dodge this and that and what to do here and there. Metal Slug 3 really proved to me that it's completely fair game throughout my journey to 1cc it by even being beatable with just your pistol alone I realized through intentionally not picking up weapons and ditching various not-required slugs.The only exception being Sol Dae Rokker's golden attack of course but besides THAT the game is completely fair, Level-4 anyway. Level 8 MIGHT be bullshit without a pistol it seems but I fully acknowledge that I'm most likely wrong, like I was before. I'm willing to give Metal Slug 3's tank-busting devs the benefit of a doubt.
