Is it a properly trimmed demo or is it the full game with just a little stuff changed out that you can potentially restore? If it's the latter, you still have a chance to find a copy if you go to Japan and look for it, but who's going to do it?

It appeared to be the Japanese equivalent of a shareware demo. Cut down to be an easy download even at 2400bps. If it was crippleware it would (probably) be at least the size of a whole floppy disk.

Didn't you read the old thread? The demo was most likely not released before DQ.
There were Japanese RPGs released before DQ but nobody seems to give a shit about them.
