Did you know that the NES (known as the Family Computer, or Famicom in Japan) has a Japan-only disk drive expansion? It was the original home of classics like Zelda and Metroid, as well as a little known game called Yume Koujou Doki Doki Panic. Surprisingly, Doki Doki Panic was later released in cartridge form in the west -- but with all the playable characters replaced by characters from Super Mario Bros., thereby turning it into the version of Super Mario Bros. 2 that westerners know and love!

Remember Star Control II? If you haven't played it since the 1990s and/or have only played the MS-DOS version I've got news for you.

In the early 2000s the 3DO version of the game was released as open source. The release included not just the engine but all the assets and even the voices, which feature some of the best voice acting for its time. It has since been ported to all major PC operating systems and some consoles like the PSP and the Wii. Not only that, but the art has been redrawn in high definition for a fan-made HD remake.

If you have never played it, you really should. It's one of the best /vr/ games you can legally obtain the full version of for $0.00.

Did you know that Sonic was a big cartoon in the 90s, and they made a videogame about it? And that is was originally released as Donkey Donkey Picnic in Japan?

Psychology may or may not be going through something called a "replication crisis" right now (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Replication_crisis -- again, it's controversial whether or not it is actually happening), which would mean a lot of it is bunk.

It's just the angle in the still. I always thought Die Anna looked 20ish in the game, but if you watch the video you'll see she looks more 16 than 24. I attribute the difference between the video and the in-game portrait to the latter's low resolution, limited palette and postprocessing.
