I agree, 6 is definitely the best game after the original trilogy but really the only part of the final mission that blew balls was the slow as molasses digging section. Everything else is pretty solid for the most part, yeah pretty solid. The final boss is REALLY easy too, like, compared to 2's and 3's anyway.

No but I know about them. Never felt like playing them since they always seemed like blatant copies but Dolphin Blue actually had some of the Metal slug devs work on it so there's a reason it turned out so similar.

Demon Front uses mostly new assets and runs at 60fps, that surpasses Metal Slug right there.

It would be fairly simple to replicate. The hardest part is lack of source code and ripping the sprites and tilesets and rearranging them in a actually good looking manner for level editing.

I played the PSP release with improved resolution and framerate. Felt like a continuation of the ideas in MS6. Combat School mode was VERY fun.

Only thing I totally disliked about 6 and 7 is that the environments aren't destructible anymore. In the Hunt and Geo Storm are older games and pretty much the entire scenery can be shot down.
