What's your opinion on this great action game? I started playing it yesterday and it's fun as hell. I love how simple it is: blast through the game and pick water bombs and rescue civilians along the way. That's it, pure action.
Btw, use snes9x since there's a rain segment that goes pitch black on other emulators.
It's fun and a pretty good idea.
I'm under the impression it is also short.
It's a great run'n'gun. Very creative. I had a good time beating it.
Recently someone has been putting out a lot of PAL to 60hz patches and he already did Firemen, so if you want to enjoy it in English and without slowdown, check that out.

Great gameplay and OST.
Boss theme is best theme.

Somehow it blends well with the idea of men risking their lives to save others. Such an heroic theme.
The sequel (The Firemen 2 - Pete & Danny) is on PlayStation. I don't know if it was translated, though.
There's a similar game on SNES called "The Ignition Factor" as well.
Waiting for the 9/11 romhack.

I just wish this were two player...

Sums up why it's cool.

Does this actually exist?

Never played it, but it looks interesting. What is the gameplay like? I'm reading "run 'n gun" but aren't you just spraying out fires and rescuing people? Confused.

For anyone who cares, Ignition Factor's getting a cartridge re-release this year as part of retro-bit's official multi-carts

It's basically an overhead action/shooter, but with fire instead of soldiers/aliens/whatever.

The arcade parts are nice, all the scripted plot shit events and dialogues are in the way.

Between this and SOS the SNES had some pretty good games about disasters.

That comment about black screen just brought me PTSD of playing Chrono trigger the first timrle on an emulator. When you first go to the future and enter a dome there's a hazy fog effect but my emulator wasn't making it transparent. Thought I was stuck in a cut scene until I quit years later trying again on another emu and feeling dumb

there are sequels on the playstation you might want to check out.
