Snatcher is an adventure game.
Policenauts is a barely interactive visual novel. Not a hard choice.

Mah nigga.
Snatcher is a sci-fi adventure game with a terribly rushed and unsatisfying ending.
Policenauts is an anime buddy cop visual novel with little to do but exhaust every dialogue option. The bomb disposal scene is unfortunately the only part that's an actual game.
Despite this, I enjoy Policenauts more due to it having more of that Kojima autism attention to detail in it's world with "Kojima science" that MGS would become infamous for.

A Hypothetical Crossover Game that doesn't actually exist.
Snatcher is the better game and the one I go back to more, but Policenauts does do a lot of cool shit and has a bit more depth overall. It's certainly a better game than the Lethal Weapon copypasta that'll show up in a few posts will lead you to believe.
JUNE 6, 1996. A MYSTERIOUS EXPLOSION HAPPENS AT THE CHERNOTON RESEARCH FACILITY
I always preferred the late 80's cyberpunk aesthetics of Snatcher over the whole "buddy cop flick in space" thing of Policenauts.
Policenauts has a plot with more fleshed-out characters and setting than Snatcher. Snatcher also has horrible pacing issues with your classic hour-long Kojima cutscenes that entirely comprise like the final act of the game.
So I prefer Policenauts even if Snatcher is more exciting on a shallower, more stylistic level.
because JUNE 6 1996.
