Cooler name, better logo, and none of the cringe associated with those that petty Nintendo-bashing adverts

"MEGA" drive seems like the proper opposite to "SUPER" nintendo.

I vaguely know the story of why the MD was renamed in the US, but I've never found what exactly the American Mega Drive thing was. A toy? A computer? Some kind of car thing?

As for me Genesis sounds cool however Mega Drive sound 90s cool and fits better.
Genesis fits JP climate better.

Was this the reason Sega named it Genesis in the US? After the NES annihilated the Master System in the US market, Sega needed a new beginning so Genesis kinda fit.
