I disagree with Lavos, should be swapped with Yuna at the least. Lavos is a parasite doing what its species needs to to survive and thrive and procreate. Even if it's truly a conscious being capable of self-reflection, it's difficult to fault it for trying to live as its evolution intended.

In trigger you actually can find and kill multiple spawn of lavos, they are found on death peak. Obviously if these are a species and this isn't some weird occurrence with them. They're planet eating parasites.

I didn't say Lavos was "unconscious," just that it may not be sentient and capable of intelligent thought. But even if it is, Trigger does try to show that it's Lavos' life cycle, with having it accumulate all of the DNA of the planet's organisms and produce children that will, probably, go off into space to repeat the process. I don't recall the actual line, but if you go to the Black Omen in the future, I think Queen Zeal suggests that Lavos is either dormant or possibly dead, since the "Day of Lavos" had passed and its spawn are now preparing themselves or something. That it has spawn and itself is apparently a non-factor after 1999 does resemble other parasites and organisms in general, where reproduction is the organism's ultimate goal, not maintaining its own existence (except to live long enough to achieve reproduction).

It's not until Cross where Schala enters into the mix that it could really be considered "evil," which is why Lavos itself shouldn't be classified as "deserving" suffering. Not that it is innocent, necessarily, but its battle with humanity and the planet is a matter of nature. Survival of the fittest. It doesn't "deserve" suffering, but that doesn't mean that Crono and the others were wrong to kill it.

Donovan's probably one of the most tragic Capcom fighting game characters, both in-universe and out.

In Twilight Princess, his tortured soul is restless and can only be put to rest when he can teach TP Link sword moves, because finally, finally, he could share SOMETHING with ANYONE in the whole world. Personal suggestion here, ignore the more meme like answers. The luigi on the egg and the owl from OoT are too joke like to use, or at least not put in such extreme locations. Look at the owl compared to Yuna. Because of Yuna entire continents suffer. The owl is sinply annoying. The fact that those two are seperated by only twenty points make it look unproffesional. Put the owl at maybe 10/15 for deserving. Try to reserve the really high spots for actually evil characters.

He suffered wading through rivers of blood in constant pain while fighting off immense hordes of demons. You're right in that he grew to love it but only after Final Doom (or was it Doom64?) when he purposely stayed in Hell to prevent more invasions. Cray does some pretty selfish shit like invading the empire without considering the consequences or really having a plan, kind of abandoning his people in a time of need he brought, and considering abandoning Ryu. By the end though he realizes his duty despite losing meaning, he sticks with you not because he needs you but because he knows he has to. Well, there is no magic formula. These things get easier to fill when there's already a bunch of characters in, because new additions are placed relative to them.
It is useful to explain why you think a character deserves that spot when you suggest them, since not everyone has played every game.

I think Akechi is misplaced, it's pretty clear how fucked in the head and miserable he is all the time by the end of the game. And he's a dick but I wouldn't put him at 100 deserve since his betrayal as at least explained partially by extreme daddy issues, and he doesn't even succeed in anything ultimately.

Also, what has Caleb really done so wrong? Everything he's killed has been more evil than him unless you choose to kill civilians.
