I really want more low poly figures, I like the look a lot. The virtua fighter figmas and that jet set radio Beat figure look great.

Those banpresto mother 2 figures are my fucking grail. They're prize figures but are pretty nice and accurate to the clay models.

Persona 3/4/5 have some stuff but mainline SMT has sadly little to offer. The jack frost nendo and the bandai raidou figure are all it really has. Pixie and mara are getting figmas though so potential for more from goodsmile is a possibility.

I have the gashapon Mother 2 figures, but I really want Starman DX. I really wish there were some for the bosses like Mani Mani. I'd also love some good posters for retro games most are just really hard to find, like Earthbound's (which is absurdly expensive), SMT 2's, or a few Mega Man ones regardless of series (though Battle Network will forever be my number 1 series)

Shame a lot of other japanese merch doesn't really translate well to western culture, like phone straps, or phone cards.

I have those too. I got all five for $20 when they released. They go for nearly $10 each now, its ridiculous. Personally my dream is to have the bigger figures of the main cast of M1 and M2 but I would take anything I could get honestly.

I'd also like the large ones,It just costs a lot, and on top of that japanese shipping can get really expensive. Like currently on one of the sites i frequent, the first set of Mother 2, Paula, Poo, and Ness, the big figures, are 6000¥ plus shipping which i'd assume would be 2000¥ yen ish due to the weight, so about 74$ for those 3. The most expensive set is still the 3 Starmen which is occasionally in stock. its going to be a couple hundred for all the big ones, which is partly due to the weight of the things and the cost of international shipping. Though seeing displays of them makes me want them more

Not OP but it's cool to see this thread is quite popular. As a toy collector its a shame so few retro characters have good figures.

What /vr/ characters do you guys want as figures? I always wanted more capcom stuff. Their 90's stuff is great. A actually good doomgdoois something I still can't believe doesn't exist. The most iconic fps character and all he has is a shitty pop of his doom 4 design.

don't have any fancy japanese figures, but I have some old toys from my childhood. Pic is an old pic I took of random toys, there's the Zelda trio, got that set for like $14 back then, and the Dhalsim g.i. joe action figure which I think I got for "free" when I bought a Street Fighter magazine. A Dhalsim figure that doesn't let you stretch his arms and legs is just disappointing, cool articulation though.

I got a Teddy on a whim off ebay a while ago, I think it cost me $30. I just checked on ebay and it's still the same price but I think I've occassionally seen him cheaper.
I don't know why I choose Teddy, can't remember what other options I had but I think it was only Ninten, Ana, Pipi and Lloyd, it was when the first batch of these were released, before the Mother 2 ones. Having Ninten would be the no brainer but I really liked Teddy in the game and I thought his model being bigger and more complex than the others made it worth it, but now Ninten sells for like double the price. Teddy's still cool and the second tallest figure, after that awesome Starman.

We don't get more low poly toys because very few games games had a low poly style so distinct like Virtua Fighter, using zero textures and embracing the blocky aesthetic.
Even the Beat is pretty different from the actual game model.

Nonetheless, I would love to see toys based on the first Digimon World models, blocky and SD, although textures printed on the toys would look weird.
