Not my significant other but Tetris Attack and PacMan are pretty much it. She likes MK2 but isn't very good. I did get her to play through most of REmake with me, and she seemed to enjoy it. We would switch off after an hour or so of playing it, but towards the end she preferred that I play and she just tell me what to do.

Really tried to get her into platformers but she wouldn't even give Mario much of a chance.

My wife really likes Mario. I wish she'd play more vidya.

My wife plays retro JRPGs and I guide her through the RPG elements. She's beaten a few Mario RPGs without any input from me, however. She also really likes licensed platformers of IPs she liked as a kid.

Kinda pleb overall, but at least she has genuine interest and appreciates the games.

All the /vr/ stuff she likes is RPGs, so there's not a lot we can play together. Sometimes she'll humor me with a beat-'em-up, but in my experience those are mostly appreciated by men for some reason.

Yeah we do, but the past year PS4 has been so good we haven't had as much time. My wife works at Square and we live in Japan so she's been busy with Nier bullshit. Plus it's always good to put away the retro for a year or so every once in awhile so it doesn't get stale. We've been shopping for our next comeback though. A lot of Saturn and PC engine this time. I don't see why people don't think they can do runs on RPGs with another person. We do it all the time. The more retro it is the easier it is to do. You just put story on hold until both people are present and while one person is grinding you can eat, cook, smoke, fuck around on the Internet, watch movies. I think RPGS are great as a 2 player experience as long as you have enough comfy places to lounge around the TV.

This thread reminds me of why I am reluctant to stop being single.
I recently saved someone from a gold digger because he was too blinded by his desire to have a family to realize she wasn't into him and only wanted his money.
It was pretty obvious since every time he would talk about his hobbies or interest, she wouldn't be dismissive but she would say stuff like "I don't understand, but tell me more" yet would never engage in the hobbie or discussion.
I tested the water by discussing star wars (not even deepest lore shit, just stuff like rumors about the new movie) and she said I sound like I smell like cheetos. He even talked card games and tried to get her into a multiplayer game so he could share something with her, and she again didn't dismiss it but showed no interest.
He even made the mistake of buying her about $800 dollars in clothes in one shopping trip.
Finally, when she asked for him to take a $3000 dollar loan for her car, he listened to my advice and dumped her.
It was actually pretty sad, he talked about how since she was pregnant (not his kid) he would be a father and how he was glad she didn't know about politics (won't go into it other then think secular conservative black man) since he wanted someone ignorant to not be upset about the state of the world.

So I have to ask, as a guy who is at best 7/10 and is into some fairly "nerdy" hobbies like /vr/ and watching tokushit. How much do I have to worry about attracting women who are only interested in me because the media has portrayed men like me as being desperate and if not rich then at least fiscally stable.

I actually had a shortlived bf where our friendship was the most fun I have had in many years. We would stay up and play and talk about vidya, osts, etc and our tastes aligned just right. But after we started dating, he became way too clingy and demanded attention 24/7 and that basically made me cut it off completely. Just uh, some advice I guess. My gf isn't into retro unfortunately. I've tried so many games but she gets "tired" or bored after playing them for longer than 5 minutes. Bubble Bobble was probably the longest we played retro together but that was still less than an hour.

She's an Instagram chick and it makes me want to cut myself because she'll spend more time taking pictures of vidya than actually playing them. Don't get me started on that Facebook shit either.

She has at least some agency during normal sex. It's a sensual experience and shit, shows our mutual love for each other, even when it's rough. Dicking is just me tying her up, beating on her ass and just pounding away until she just melts in my hands completely. It's all about showing her she's a good girl. Don't get me wrong, I get off on it too, but she definitely gets more out of it. At least, that's the gist of it as far as I care to understand it.

She's more into modern stuff, but there's a few retro things she really enjoys. She's mostly down for anything on 64 and will usually clean up at Mario party because she played it alone against computers constantly as a kid. She's also pretty good at smash. We tried playing through castlevania 4 once and she died a bunch on the first level and quit before the boss. Retro stuff isn't really her thing but she still plays a shitload of games. We play a lot of overwatch and before that we ran through destint together. We've played a few single player games like alien isolation and the last of us passing the controller back and forth. On her own she just beat breath of the wild and she's been playing through the last guardian, before that she played the new ratchet and clank and dying light. Basically we play modern games together and then I play retro alone. It's definitely better than her not playing vidya at all but I do wish I had someone to play life force with

she had alley cat and some educational dos games and shit, and I had mega man 2 and the marios and castlevania
