What RetroArch cores and settings do you use?
Especially for the ps1 because I need to get mine workkng properly
NES: Nestopia
SNES: bsnes-mercury-balanced
N64: ParaLLEl but I tend to not emulate N64
Sega 8-bit/16-bit: Genesis Plus GX
32x: PicoDrive
Saturn: I've used both the Yabause core and Mednafen core, not sure which is better desu.
TG-16/TC-CD: Mednafen fast
PS1: Mednafen software. Hardware fixed perspective correction and upscales beyond 2x w/o slowing down your machine but I don't care about those features personally.

Protip: don't use retroarch. Mesen, higan, fusion and mednefan are all you need.
>>4008960
Not if you want good video/audio sync.
>fusion
kek
>>4008961
If you care about quality then get a console and a flashcart.
>>4008964
I care about not cluttering my house with CRTs and consoles like a hoarder.
>>4008960
Mednafen on retroarch is much more user friendly.
>>4008936
Is ParaLLEl better than Mupen64?
>>4008970
>Flashcart
>Hoarding
Dude you only need one CRT.
>>4008983
I like ParaLLEl better, but admittedly I play a small sample of N64 games (F-Zero X, Ogre Battle, MK64.) N64 emulation in general is still a shit show.
>>4008991
Exactly, which is one CRT too many. I prefer emulation.
>>4008997
But muh accuracy
>>4009004
>Use outdated and/or inaccurate emulators
>Or stick solely with hardware
>No middle ground
No thanks.
>>4008936
Can't seem to find Mednafen core on Android, how is it listed?
>>4009125
PS1 Mednafen is x86 only. For ARM devices you want PCSX-ReARMed.
>>4009125
Beetle PSX
>>4008914
NES: FCEUMM
SNES: Snes9x
Sega: Genesis Plus GX
PS1: PCSX-ReARMed
PCE: Mednafen PCE Fast
>>4009128
What if my android device is x86?
>>4008983
Much better.
>>4011363

>>4008964
Nah i just use retroarch.
>>4008914
I use RA for NES, SMS, SNES, Genesis, GB/C/A, Virtual Boy, and Wonderswan. I use Mednafen and PPSSPP as standalones because they're superior to the RA versions. The others may well be superior in standalones as well but they work well enough in RA that it's fine for convenience.
>>4013669
Sorry, meany Mednafen PSX as a standalone. I use the VB and WS cores in RA. Not being able to use a controller in Mednafen frontends is a pain when you play on a TV.
>>4008960
Those are not Linux friendly
>>4013685
Good.
>>4008914
I play game boy like it was July 31, 1989.
>>4008960
i agree. retroarch is too complex in its simplicity, ironically enough
>>4015402
honestly this
>>4015386
>doesn't get blurry as fuck when moving
unauthentic/10
>>4015874
>turn off bilinear filtering
>>4018321
Turning off bilinear filtering is the correct answer.
>>4013685
Why would anyone use linux
>>4018887
Why would anyone not use a UNIX-like OS?
retroarch is a pile of shit. Just configure your own cores with hyperspin instead
>>4018940
And can you do this on Android?
>>4019041
>emulating on a phone
>>4019045
>Inb4 muh computer runs better Iamahugefaggot.jpeg
>>4019164
>playing games
>on a phone
>>4018940
>hyperspin
welcome to 2004 and 1024 max resolution.
>>4008936
They sort of call Mednafen Beetle for most people now.
>>4019178
>playing retro in HD
Yeah OK fag. Enjoy your shitty LCD
>>4019187
Old habits die hard
>Not using BizHawk
Seriously way better than it has any right to be. User friendly as fuck, shit ton of features, and all of the emulator cores are solid.
>>4020573
>no exclusive fullscreen
>>4008914
Mednafen core or beetle or whatever they're calling it this month. Use the software core there are no settings you need.
>>4013672
Legit question, how much is the standalone Mednafen better than the RA core? Like, what's the difference?
>>4018881
>not using bilinear-sharp shader
>>4008983
ParaLLEl is the Vulkan renderer branch of Mupen64Plus.
>>4008991
I like to play snes, nes, turbografx, neo geo, genesis, master system, sega cd, msx, Atari 2600, and Nintendo 64 for Mario 64, sin and punishment and oot. I could 'just' buy 8 consoles, an old Japanese computer /w monitor, and an old crt... oh yeah, and the flash carts, which would cost about 1000 and take up a whole room orrrrrrr.... emulate on my laptop.
>>4008914
You should check the /emugen/ wiki
anybody ever have an issue where epsxe reads controllers in the config screen, but doesn't seem to in a game?
I can use my controller in other emulators just fine.
Which is better beetween bsnes perf ans snes9x core?
>>4022489
no idea but i get thousands of frames per second on bsnes balanced and the number of games it doesnt emulate perfectly is in the single digits, so id go for bsnes
>>4015415
This. Compare RetroArch vs Raine under Linux. Raine just werks.
