looks a bit wierd
i grabbed a Mayflash basic stick for 30€ and let me tell you, if you switch the buttons the thing works like a charm. the stick itself is pretty decent for a 30bucks stick. its just that the stock buttons feel really rubbery as they are just plastic pieces that press onto a PCB inside the stick to be activated.
you just need a sander to make the holes for buttons slightly bigger, and some soldering knowledge to solder better buttons to the mayflash PCB, but its perfectly usable without changing the buttons too

An actual arcade stick instead of fightanshit. I use it for most two player games. Anything that doesn't need analog.
>>
>>4002553
>if its marketed for fighting games it cant be used for anything else
why the irrational hate, fighting games are the only reason arcade sticks are even produced nowadays, its not like they wont work on other genres

I've got two of pic related.

Be careful to buy the version with torx screws in the top plate. It has a metal plate (vs plastic), lever-actuated Omron microswitches on the switch (vs button actuated ones) and much better quality buttons)

I generally use them for Fighters or arcade ports
>>
>>4002562
That came out pretty garbled.

I meant microswitches on the stick of course.
>>
it has 6 pink buttons now and fillers for the cheater buttons

how much dos a vynil like that cost?
i like them except for when they have videogame characters
>>
>>4002578
you buy the plexi to fit your stick at http://www.tek-innovations.com/arthobbies/?loc=products and then you can just print your own art and have it cut somewhere or get someone else to make it for you

The ones on my SF2:TWW cab are probably my favorite but I have one of these and it's fine. I also have that old school SNES competition pro and a Blaze Twinstick but it's the second gen one with cheap non-arcade configuration and one of the P1 buttons went out. Lately for main-bridge emulation I use my 360 SF4 stick because it's wireless.

what kind of wires do i need
>>
>>4004080

22 gauge wire. You can see where the brown and green pcb are connected by a white brick. That's where you'll have to solder them onto the green pcb.

You might have to do some modding to get the buttons to fit right and whatnot. Can't see your case clearly.

I just grabbed this (I didn't take the picture) for my first home stick

it's alright I guess, buttons are kinda shit but the stick itself feels nice, helps that it came with gates
slap it into steam's controller config and screwed around using it in Doom, alien swarm, and disgaea, that was kinda neat, got it for MvC3 though
>>
>>4003163
I'm in the process of making my own two player cab. Did you get your button layout from slagcoin?

i would use the square gate (the one on the left) if i weere you
>>
>>4004008
Looks a lot like the inside of an unmodded Hori VX/V3, you're going to have to de solder the buttons from the PCB, remove it and connect the corresponding wires to the buttons. Look up a guide online for the VX/V3 for an example.

is that the stock Mayflash stick? honestly, its the besst stock part on mayflash sticks.
i should have bought only buttons instead of buttons & stick.
i dont plan on buying a speecial PCB like you so i have to be real careful soldering the buttons to the mayflash PCB once i get the cables.
>>
>>4004080

You heard wrong things about it
>>
>>4004169
Nah it's a Hori V3, it's internals look similar to the mayflash.
>>
>>4002553
>An actual arcade stick instead of fightanshit

First of all, that's not an "actual" arcade stick. That's a stick produced and marketed for the Sega Saturn, for home use. It's the same thing as buying any 3rd party stick that uses quality parts. Minus the cringy fighting game art.

Second, that's a Japanese stick. It's almost guaranteed to be using Sanwa or Seimitsu parts. Literally the same parts that are used by the "fightsticks" you seem to hate for some reason, but at a vastly inflated price.

It's a damn good looking stick, but you're clearly trying too hard to validate your purchase.
>>
>>4004148
Yeah I got it from there.
>>
>>4004064
>>4004080
The button quality is just fine, but extended use of the sticks makes them feel like you're churning jelly, it's awful. I replaced mine, but luckily all the wires are hot-swappable, so modding's easy. It's not a bad investment, especially since they can be used with a billion consoles through the box adapters.
>>
I'm using a 360 SF4 SE Madcatz stick but I've swapped all the buttons and stick with sanwa parts. It does the job and works with everything I've thrown at it so far.

>>
>>4002481
Using a Mayflash V2 for anything emulated. Same case as the OP image. Stock parts are pretty good plus it's piss easy to mod and cheap. Probably gonna put Sanwa stick and Seimitsu buttons in there eventually.
>>
>>4002481
I've never owned one before. Got a genesis 3 button arcade stick yesterday to try it out with shmups. Haven't put in enough time with it to see if I like it yet, itll definitely take some getting used to. I can 1cc thunder force 3 with my eyes closed normally but I got a game over on the second to last level last night. On the other hand, I got way further in Raiden Trad and exactly where I normally get in Phelios. Maybe ill just use it on vertis
>>
I bought a qanba drone that arrived yesterday but then realized I don't have any games to use it in. Downloaded FightCade and SamSho 4 but didn't know you had to challenge another person to be able to play it, I jus wanna practice in some games by myself.
>>
>>4004981
You can launch the emulator bundled with Fightcade by itself toplay singleplayer. Or just use MAME.

Just finished mine the other day, played some KoF 2001. Love the way it feels.

Was thinking about making more to sell, specifically Neo Geo fightsticks, and adaptors to work on turbografx. Next ones will have acrylic top with art
A friend and I lasercut and assembled the pieces using a design we've both worked together to produce. What do you guys think?

Can post more in morning when lighting isn't so awful.
>>
>>4002481
Still have my Dreamcast Twin Stick set because it's occasionally fun to play Virtual On 2 with it. I also have Outrigger but yeah not playing that.

I wish I had a Saturn and a set of Twin Stick controllers because in all honesty VO2 is not fun compared to the original.

Less dark picture.
Apparently I live in a dungeon, never enough lighting. Select and start are on the right side.

>>4006531
The buttons and stick are Seimitsu, some 20ga wire from fry's, I forgot where we ordered the main cable from but can post a link later. The box was of my friend's design that we've made changes to along the way; made out of birch and MDF lasercut into peices on a machine, assembled, sanded, and vinyl wrapped.

Hoping to find a better way to finish these, as vinyl shows any imperfections, and we're not exactly wood workers.
When we get to work on them in a few hours I'll show a picture of a bare box with no top or components.
>>
I'm looking at focusattack and arcade shock for parts. Do you recommend anywhere else?
