I think Toad's actually the best character in the game.

I preferred Luigi most of the time.

Some times Peach when the level had some icky jumps.

Technically it's Luigi (it's a platforming game after all dependent on jump) but Toad was the patrician's choice.

Toad was always the go-to for 3-1. Can quickly clean out all of those coin-turnips at the bottom of the waterfall.

That's about it though. Luigi offers too much platform control.

I used Toad most of the time when I was a kid; the extra lives helped a lot. Nowadays I use Princess pretty much exclusively though.

I don't think I have any WebMs but it's the fucking best. You can switch between characters and their dance moves and move the camera around them.

There's some good WebMs and gifs to make of it, it's insane how no one jumped on the opportunity. Check tcrf for how to access it.

Did you know toad wasn't originally in this game? It was actually a famicom (disk system, that's right, Nintendo used floppy disks!) Game called donkey kong panic that depicted the US involvement in Afghanistan during the 1970s to subvert soviet power which directly resulted in the rise of radical Islam and terrorism.

Mario is the most useless one. Luigi can jump high. Toad is a speed demon. Peach can float. Mario is just meh.

No. Toad is the best. The other characters don't do what you want; they make you wait. Luigi makes you manage a weird momentum system. Toad just does what you want. So he is the best, unless what you want isn't always something good. In that case, you might need a slower character who gives you more time to change your mind.

Toad has the tightest controls and is the fastest of the lot. His strengths more than compensate for his jump losses.

I actually always assumed it was an accepted thing that toad was the best choice. (granted there will always be those who like to float around and take forever to pick up objects with peach)

Anyone but Toad is the hard mode character. In the heat of action, jumping ability won't matter for shit.

Hard Mode: Toad

Normal Mode: Mario

Easy Mode: Luigi

Supereasy Mode: Peach

I would put the three guys in the opposite order. (Peach's superpower makes her a special case of course.) Playing as Luigi is like playing with heavy gloves on and also some extra lag or something.

the further you get, the more toad's fast plucking is a lifesaver

fuck around with the other characters early on for fun, but once you start getting somewhere, stick to toad.

his lower jumping ability doesn't matter as i don't take a shortcut.
