In fact, I think the room is still there on the remake, and maybe you get something meaningful there (a CD?), can't remember if that mirror/door thing was in it though.
Rondo has a couple weird places like that. For example this, why is that enemy there? It's the only time you see it in the game, I believe. The room leads nowhere and there isn't anything to collect there. The enemy will sometimes drop a bag of money, but rarely.
It's still cool it's there, I'm not complaining, but it's a bit pointless.

I like all the little things in Rondo that you only see once, like the huge meat/heart or the guy that throws the rolling balls. Its nice to see all the little things they decided to throw in there.

Toru Hagihara got promoted mid-way through Symphony's development. Iga was doing a little bit of everything at the time, and was promoted to Assistant director. Iga was then given stewartship of the series hand held and PS2 games as a producer. Since none of them sold well, Konami decided to do a westernized reboot.
