Awesome, thanks for clarifying that. I was going to buy the actual cartridges to play on my AV modded Famicom, but I read too many reports of those carts having trouble with real hardware, so I said fuck it.

I realized something.

Sprites have a color palette of 4. However more often the fourth color is reserved for transparency. The case being for the dancing girl here, she doesn't need to worry about transparency since the background's black and so are her outlines... So she can have black, white, red, and pink without worry.

The 1st color of any sprite pallet is always transparency on the NES. you can't change that behavior.

Describing everything else is too much. But if you never coded anything, then it will be a very very very high learning curve, you better start learning programming in general before doing something like this. Consoledev for especially old consoles requires very high knowledge of coding and understanding the console which is no easy task in any way. Also this is off topic, please start another Thread for this if you need more.

Nope. The original Kira Kira Star Night IS on the disk in ROM form, but the DX version is enclosed in a VirtuaNES executable.

Back on topic, anyone here buy one of the Riki cartridges and have trouble playing them on original hardware?

A buddy of mine can't get his 8 Bit Music Power to play on his AV Famicom, and it doesn't work on my AV modded red white either. Strangely enough, it works on one of those N64 controller famiclones though.
