I just bought the Japanese version of Chrono Trigger of off Tradera. (Swedens version of Ebay)
Thing is, I only payed around $20 for it and it's in, what I consider, perfect condition. I see these go for quite alot more on Ebay, but I just got into the whole "Super Famicom" business.
Was this a good deal or what?

Have fun reading it and playing it.
You can find thousands of copies all over Japan for a few hundred yen. An >>3966469 8000 yen price tag might be what you expect for an NIB cart. It's not a collector's item, and the only real point in collecting Japanese games generally (rather than explicitly rare games) is sentimental; it's only a good deal if you're happy with it, and don't expect to be able to brag to other people about it or for it to hold value.

English versions of CT go for $80+ on ebay for a loose cart. Japanese versions go for a fraction of that CIB. You don't have anything particularly special or valuable.

There's a reason the Japanese version of CT is so cheap...Do you even plan on learning moon or did you buy it just to let it sit on your shelf?
Why the fuck would you buy a Japanese version of an RPG if you can't read moonrunes? baka
That's epic. Epic for the win.

No you don't. You see them listed for that. They sell for less on ebay on a regular basis. They sell for a fraction of that in Japan every day.
Also, pathetic attention whore fail. Lurk moar.

Nice buy. $20 is a good price considering all the extras and condition it is in.
I remember the Japanese version had a preorder bonus of a pack of shiny stickers with the Toriyama CT art. Generic stuff, but wouldn't that make it complete?
The Japanese version is pretty easy to come by as it was a very hyped game. You have to imagine Squaresoft and Enix collaborating was quite a thing, like Capcom & SNK, so a lot of it was produced. The Japanese version is a pretty reasonable price, while the US version I think is valued because those who initially got it don't tend to want to part with it (like me).

Do you actually plan on playing it?
