Holy shit.

Is that Myst?
>>3958024
Riven, the sequel, with one of the trickiest and sneakiest puzzles on this screen alone. No explicit spoilers from me.

I didn't play much Riven, I was like 6 when I played Myst and that just
That was just too much for me. I was content hopping back over to Math Blaster and Descent.

if you ever give it another chance, try to go into it knowing nothing. I think that's the best way to have an immersive experience. The game is pretty damn near photorealistic for 1997 standards. See pic related.

oops

Screenshots look rice until you realise the games are all still frames or slideshows.
>>3958102
That never happens. Atmospheric sounds and music make it a seamless experience.
Hey OP. I love this game too.
>>3958037
I was pissed off that you can barely explore that area.
>Yo?
What did he mean by this?

>I was pissed off that you can barely explore that area.
Not OP, but me too. I would say there's no exploration there to begin with! The bee tree is advertised on the cover, wallpapers, everywhere for the game, yet not given any proper attention like an Age would be. One of the reasons I felt the game was shorter and lacking than it appeared at first.
I must be stupid, because although I was able to figure out most of Must without using the hints, I've started Riven and am totally stumped.
The most I've done was drain a boiler room which does... Nothing? The lack of text makes this shit so much harder to understand.

*Myst
damn autocorrect

Should have been easy for ya.

Haven't played it yet, fuck this thread I'm out before spoilers
>>3958026
Wait what's the puzzle? It doesn't even look like there's anything to do there. It's just a balcony.
>>3958658
Play the game.
>>3958661
No.
>>3958102
True games in general are nice untill you realize that they are just still frames swapped fast enough to give you the illusion of motion.
>>3958458
Yeah this game is something else as far as immersion is concerned. I wish it was a real place.

It could've been, partially if you haven't heard.

>>3958658If you close the door there's a passageway to a room that has a clue for an endgame puzzle IIRC. You come in and the door from the other direction, so you have to turn around and CLOSE a door that you've already opened to find it. I think the door goes to a dead end room though so the odds that you'll come back through are quite high.
