When I first got my ps1, I didn't get any games with it because I couldn't afford them, so I played the demo disc it came with and any others I got with magazines for a couple of years. I ended up liking most of the games on them and would end up grabbing a lot of the full games in the future. Sometimes the demo levels were way more fun than the full games though. Two that come to mind are Crime Killer and G-Police. What are your favourites or examples where the demos were better?
Wow that brings back memories, I remember porsche challenge making me hate racing games
Lifeforce Tenka was too spoopy

I liked the atmosphere in Tenka. Porsche Challenge is something I'd show people who didn't like games but liked cars.
I remember playinf the demo for Dead Ball Zone for months with a friend... when we finally snatched a copy, we felt that something was off...
Rascal and Future Cop: LAPD

Holy Shit, I remember those two demos!
The Crime Killer demo was really slick and fun, but the actual game was janky as fuck and made no sense. G-Police was also not as fun as the demo.
I remember the 1996 PS1 System Demo Disc had Die Hard Trilogy on it. It was about 50% of the first level of Die Hard 2 (the light gun game). It was so much fun and had such an amazing soundtrack.
When I bought the full game, they had changed the song for the first level of Die Hard 2 and I was like "ah shit, I liked the original song". Then the second level had with the song that was in the first level of the demo and I was so happy!

Also, there was a JamPack Demo Disc that had a hidden demo of Pitfall 3-d that was really on point. I played the hell out of it, but the actual game was not that great.

I must have played the Tenchu, Tomba! and Medievil demos dozens of times each back then. Good times, I really miss that kind of stuff.
Also, some are pretty neat original stuff in them. I remember that first FFVIII demo in which you played the Dollet Mission with Rinoa instead of Selphie and everybody wore their "official" clothes instead of the school uniforms (it even had alternate FMVs to reflect all that stuff)
I always liked the grungy menu music.
