Is Mega Man X the first and also the only /vr/-compliant gritty reboot?
Post interesting reinventions or U-turns of game series before it became common practice

It's not a reboot, you ignorant underage.
"Super" anything - followed by anything "64"
Also lots of second gen era games saw enhanced ports.
"Gritty" isn't really an objective quality

it's NOT a port. ignorant kids...
>>3948253
X is not a reboot
>>3949442
It's a re-imagining
>>3949443
no it isnt
>>3948253
elevator action returns is a good gritty reboot
MMX is a different series.
MMX is more edgy than gritty.
>>3949493
i'd hesitate to even call it edgy.
it's slightly darker and more serious but hardly edgy.
>>3949443
It's in the same fucking timeline as, and makes direct in-universe references to, the original series.
Here, you deserve this.
X is cool 90s anime to me.
Classic MM is like 1960s anime (Tetsuwan Atomu)

X would slot in very well as vash the stampede
>>3948253
X is a robot, not a reboot.

Edgy is the go-to 90's buzzword. Aand as such, anything amd everything 90's is "edgy" to kids too young to know.better.
Kind of like how they think everything in the 80's was neon and had that arnie action movie cheese.

It takes place a hundred years after the original series, and is a continuation of it. It's not a reboot ot reimagining.
>>3949631
You don't get.
As a game and concept, it's a re-imagining. It's Megaman recreated for the 90's.
Who cares about the timeline? It means nothing outside the game. We're not preteens to care for the cringeworthy anime characters and plot.
